Given the economy these days, with its staggering unemployment, people are considering multiple streams of income. Many realize that they have to take personal responsibility in order to have the stability they deserve and thrive, rather than working for a 9-5 (often times more) job where you can be uprooted and disposable at a drop of the hat.

People are getting smarter. They're diversifying their income. They are realizing that they could use their same smarts, time and energy to make themselves rich rather than someone else. And for those who realize this, and take the leap of faith, in themselves, are flocking to Network Marketing.

So what do you need to consider when deciding if Network Marketing is for you?

I do not recommend network marketing to people who are not highly self-motivated.”

Basically, if you have been accustomed to an employee mindset, it may be challenging to shift into an entrepreneurial mindset. At the very least, it requires daily discipline, tenacity, structure, accountability to yourself and most importantly, the mindset that you are your own hardest boss.

By putting the same degree of energy, time (especially at the beginning), and dedication into your business as you did into your job (granted you were a hard worker), you are much more likely to succeed as a network marketer.

Secondly, some people fail to notice one of the most important roles of Network Marketing, and that’s getting out of your comfort zone and networking. Placing an ad, and then waiting for the sales to pour in is a pyramid scheme.

 It’s essential that you step out of your comfort zone, share your business with everyone and network with people: fellow marketers, those seeking new opportunities, people in your own company, your upline, and your downline.

When you embrace this part of your business, it becomes a wonderful chance to meet new, like-minded people from all over the world, and forge business relationships and friendships. And as you continue to build these relationships, adding value to them every day, you will find that, as mentioned by Trump, network marketing will allow you to earn an ‘income comparable to that of a CEO’.

Finally, when considering whether Network Marketing is the right business opportunity for you, make sure you do your research and find a company that resonates with you. Do your due diligence on the company and research the leadership, the products (are these products that can stand alone in the market place?), your mentor and team (will you receive the coaching, and support that you need, especially at the beginning?), and finally, is this a company that you can get excited about?

When you are passionate about what you’re doing, it’s going to radiate in everything you do, from how you speak to people about your business, to how you handle the days when things aren’t really going the way you want them to go.
